POWERING YOUR LEADERSHIP.001.jpeg

What are the first things that come to mind when you hear the word energy?

After a taking a small poll from a few leaders within our online community of leaders, these leaders consistently mentioned two words when discussing leadership and energy - strength and power.

Some people may think that energy is overrated, but leaders that successfully lead understand the importance of energy with their leadership.

Energy is the capacity to exert power.  In other words, energy is the ability to lead or influence others.

The idea of leadership energies has been around for a long time.  Here are 5 types of energies you need to be aware of to help strengthen your leadership skills.

1.    Positive Energy.

This is the energy that builds confidence and trust.  For every negative there is a positive and vice versa, but great leaders find a way to focus more on the positive versus the negative.  Why is this important?  Because this demonstrates to followers how a leader thinks.  More importantly, it gives insight to people about how you lead yourself and how you will lead others.

2.    Mental Energy.

This is the energy that sharpens intellectual ability.  Leaders will always make time to educate their mind.  Success is inevitable for leaders who will strengthen their mental energy.

3.    Emotional Energy.

This is the energy that will expand your connections because emotional energy is all about building relationships.  The level of emotional intelligence of a leader determines how successful he or she will be.  Emotional intelligence deals with the capability of individuals to recognize their own emotions and those of others.  Leaders with high emotional intelligence are able to discern between different feelings and label them appropriately.  When we are able to manage emotions, it makes it easier to adapt to various environments and achieve distinct goals.

4.    Physical Energy.

This is the energy of good health and general well being.  In order to serve anyone else, a leader must be able physically to help himself or herself.  This energy deals with how we eat, sleep, work out, and care for our body.  Good physical health is critical to a leaders success.  Without good physical energy, it will be hard to serve in any capacity of leadership.  Health is a leaders greatest wealth.

5.    Spiritual Energy.

This is the energy that gives us our purpose.  Spiritual energy is the foundation for leaders.  It gives clarity, sets vision, and inspires belief.  This allows a leader to focus on the things that matter the most.  If the Creator created us all, why not tap into His energy and power?

The success of your leadership is dependent on your ability to tap into these energies.
